All materials are made, assembled, and packaged in the USA.

A special 7 mil polyethylene is used for the CarJacket and MotoJacket. A webbing is molded inside making it rip-stop. It is very durable, light weight, and tear resistant.

Yes, a cut or hole may be repaired with tarp tape or a high-quality duct tape (Home Depot has three qualities). Use the best quality, clean both sides of the material, and then tape both sides.

No. Put a cloth cover or bed sheet on vehicle before closing jacket.

A lining attached to jacket material would be nearly impossible to clean, add much more weight, and add much more cost to the product. You are better off using your fabric car cover which may be laundered if necessary.

Lay jacket flat on floor like a sleeping bag. Unzip the three sides. Fold top over to the side. Carefully drive or push car on to floor of bag. Place cloth cover or bed sheet on vehicle. Pull top jacket material over car and zip closed.

Lay jacket flat on floor. Unzip from one side of front of jacket, all around base and back to opposite side of front. Move top forward, exposing bottom of jacket. Place motorcycle on center of bottom material. Place cloth cover or bed sheet on motorcycle. top material back over bike and zip closed.

Ten or more years seems reasonable, if you give it good care.

No. Indoor use only. Rain could get inside if the material got damaged. Water held inside would keep the vehicle wet all the time. Wind would also cause the material to “whip” and may soon wear it out.

Yes, This can work very well but caution must be used. A strong wind could cause abrasion on any part of the car the jacket touches. Also, a good cloth cover must be used in this situation. We observed a GTO, stored outside at Hershey, after 16 hours of rain. It came out of a CarJacket perfectly dry.

We include OmniDry desiccant to remove humidity bagged with the car. Desiccant is a material that absorbs moisture out of air. It is provided with each carbag. Although, your vehicle must be completely dry when stored.

Yes. It can be dried in an oven. It should be dried anytime the bag is opened which allows in more humidity. Dry it every 6 months for vehicles in storage longer than over winter. Click here for OmniDry Desiccant Instructions.

It’s available on this website here. The cost of the original packets supplied with the bag are minimal. An optional, deluxe metal-cylinder, holding 10 pounds of OmniDry, is also available.

Some folks want more OmniDry as extra insurance against moisture. And, some people live in a very humid climate or plan to store their car/bike longer than over winter. The cylinder is a bit easier to dry because the OmniDry remains inside the can while drying.

Use it. We want you to put a cloth cover or sheet on the vehicle before zipping closed. The cover prevents jacket material from rubbing on painted surface. This is important if wind blows through an open door and causes the jacket material to move around.

Surprisingly, no. Actually the air collects a small amount of the oils from leather and quickly becomes saturated. Since there is not an exchange of air, the drying stops.

Yes. Keeping fresh oxygen away helps extend the life of paint and upholstery. Likewise for reduction of ultraviolet light. Ozone causes deterioration of rubber items. The jacket material keeps fresh ozone away. Any pollutants in the air that might do harm are kept out. Bugs and insects do not enter and cause problems. The gray opaque color does not allow prying eyes to identify the vehicle. This may provide additional protection.

Totally, if your bike is ready to ride when put away, it will be ready to ride when removed from the jacket. Polished aluminum, magnesium, and brass all come from storage in a jacket as perfect as they went in the jacket. Your motorcycle will look as if it had been sitting only a few moments, not since last fall, when you remove it from storage.

Sure, they can chew through almost anything. Since they cannot smell or see anything in the bag, there is no reason for them to do it. If you notice that a mouse/rodent builds a next underneath, please check to make sure that no holes have been chewed in the material, if any holes, you can cover the hole with heavy duty duct tape and keep using it. We believe the CarBag to be a deterrent, but rodents can and have chewed through the material.

No. If you use a cloth cover, the zipper will never touch the vehicle. It is a heavy duty commercial YKK plastic zipper that can take the pressure of tires rolling over it and shouldn’t hurt paint even if it touched it.

If the antenna will collapse, lower it as much as possible. If it is easily removed, take if off. As long as it will lower to near the level of the roof and is near the front or back window it will be OK. A large plastic test tube is supplied to put over the antenna to provide a larger surface area so it is not likely to puncture the material.

Yes, absolutely. Barns, damp warehouses, enclosed trailers, dirt floored sheds as well as nice garages work very well. Even a tent would work. Just not outdoors exposed to the elements.

Yes, but it will be necessary to put some padding down first to protect from stones poking through material when tires roll over it. Scrap carpeting, old paneling or even heavy cardboard can work to offer protection.

No. Just wipe it up and follow up with a solvent such as spray carborator cleaner to further clean and dry it. However, the best thing is to put drip pan or heavy cardboard to catch the oil. Then cleaning will not be necessary.

Definitely! Any standing moisture bagged in will be trapped inside. This could do harm. Do not wash vehicle just before putting away. Moisture behind chrome and in cracks must have time to evaporate. Do not drive on wet road or wet grass before storing. Air conditioners should not be used before storing because the evaporator drips water. Make sure cooling system and water pump does not leak.

No. Although it doesn’t need to be completely cold. If you can put your hand on the exhaust manifold, and not burn yourself, then it is cool enough. CAUTION—Do not park a car on the material if the catalytic converter is hot.

No, but there are a number of sizes available. We choose the jacket that fits closest, and usually is a loose fit. However, the fit does vary with each individual model of car or bike.

We know the size for most cars built since World War II. For older cars, unusual cars or modified cars we often need to know the length, width and height to calculate the correct size.

No. A 1/4 inch thick heavy rubber pad is provided for the kick stand or center stand.

Well, yes and no. VPI or VPCI stands for Vapor Phase Corrosion Inhibitor. VPCI’s work very well at protecting metal from corrosion, especially in critical areas. However, it will not prevent mold and mildew. Nor do we have data to confirm how it reacts with all materials in a vehicle. Also, VPCI vaporizes readily and will “leach from the material over time. Then all that remains is a plastic bag.

Usually within 24 hours by UPS. During the holidays, orders typically ship 3 to 5 business days from the date the order was placed.

Most definitely. There is nothing magical about it. The bag seals out moisture and desiccant removes humidity bagged inside. Therefore the vehicle is in a dry environment. Once sealed, dust and dirt simply can not get on the vehicle. If there is no moisture and dust and dirt can not get on the vehicle, how else can the vehicle come out but in exactly the same condition as it went in?

It’s a very specific one. Provided you have followed the requirements, up to one year from purchase date, if your vehicle doesn’t come out of storage as perfect as you stored it, you can get your money back. Our products are designed for Indoor Car and Motorcycle Storage, our guarantee does not cover outdoor storage (such as but not limited to carports)!

For the Metal Cylinder, place aluminum foil on oven rack. Put whole cylinder with desiccant inside on aluminum foil. Follow temperature and time for paper-packets (two hours at 425°F). Rotate cylinder once or twice during baking. At end of two hours, wrap foil around cylinder. Seal very well. let cool on oven rack. Remove foil after jacket is partially zipped and place insider jacket.

There has been no testing with using our products with electric vehicles. If purchasing our product for use on an electric vehicle, there is no guarantee nor warranty. See wording listed under Warranty and Notice to Purchaser.
