Please keep instructions with desiccant.

If you need to re-order OmniDry desiccant, visit our order form.

  • Purpose: OmniDry desiccant, removes moisture from air sealed inside the jacket. It prevents or minimizes corrosion, tarnish, mildew—destructive processes enhanced by moisture. Do not use jacket without new or dried OmniDry desiccant.
  • Using: Follow instructions as given on card in desiccant package.
  • OmniDry desiccant is good as long as the jacket remains sealed. However, after opening the storage jacket, or after 6 months, the desiccant must be replaced or dried for reuse. You may purchase new packets or cylinder to save time and be assured you have properly dried desiccant.
  • Other uses: You may use the packets/cylinder in any well-sealed or closed container to protect moisture sensitive material. OmniDry can dry tool chests, gun cabinets, trunks, bookcases and similar storage containers.
  • Disposal: Our desiccant is user friendly and earth friendly. It does no harm. In fact, it is often used by farmers for improving soil conditions. You may dispose of OmniDry by broadcasting it on a 10’X10′ area or larger of lawn, garden, or field.

  • Optional Cylinders: Place in oven and follow baking time, temperature, and precautions above. Rotate cylinder once or twice during baking. After baking, roll cylinder in several layers of aluminum foil, making sure it has an air tight seal. Allow to cool before use. When ready to use, unwrap, quickly place cylinder in jacket and immediately close the jacket or bag.

Reactivating (drying) OmniDry

  • Once OmniDry has been used, it must be dried! Ideally you should dry the desiccant just before putting it in the vehicle storage jacket. If this is not possible, store in an air tight container after drying. Keep in mind that these granules begin to adsorb moisture when they cool to temperatures below 300F. Do not dry if granules become soaked with gas or oil!
  • Original Paper-Packets: Open the OmniDry paper-packets (you will not be able to reuse the paper ) and pour desiccant granules from bags into shallow pan (aluminum cake pans work well) and spread very thinly. Place pans in a conventional oven and bake for two (2) hours at 425°F. Stir once or twice during baking. BE CAREFUL – DESICCANT BECOMES VERY HOT. DON’T BURN YOURSELF! After baking, cover and carefully seal pan with aluminum foil. Make sure it has an air tight seal. Allow to cool. When ready to use, unwrap and quickly place pan in the jacket. Immediately close the jacket or bag.
